dylan's life

i am approaching 8 weeks of age (tomorrow officially) and i am becoming quite my own person. i still haven't begun to laugh, but i still do it in my sleep occasionally. i no longer have the problem with gas at bed time either. the hair i was born with on top of my head had rubbed off, but is now coming back fast and furious. the color is still hard to tell but mommy and daddy think it will be either dark blonde or light brown.
i love being sang to and not just children's songs either. i love to here mommy or daddy sing me whatever they are listening to. i smile and coo when they do. i particularly like "i can't fight this feeling anymore" by reo speedwagon as performed by daddy. just about anything mommy sings me is good.
daddy weighed me at aidan's 3 year dr. appointment on 2/16 (i was 6 weeks) and i weighed 14lbs. 10oz. then. that was up 4 lbs. from my birth weight. my next dr. appointment is on wed. 3/15. then we'll see how much bigger i've gotten. mommy and daddy call me a lug because i am soo big.
we went and got pictures taken this past weekend. there are some of aidan, some of me and some of both of us. we should receive the prints in a couple weeks.

i am just over 5 weeks old now and i am a growing boy. i am already in size 3 diapers (my brother is in size 6). i started to smile when i was three weeks and now it is not terribly difficult to coax a smile out of me. at three weeks is also when i first started to hold my head up a little on my own. now my head is not nearly so floppy, but it is still hard to lift it when i am on my tummy.
my brother is really cool. every time i hear him talk i stop and look at him quietly. he captivates me.
mommy and daddy think i am very noise since i grunt, groan, squeak, snort, squeal, and oh yeah fart. in fact i have a nightly routine of farting as soon as i am put into bed for the night. these are not 5 week old farts either, they should like they could come from mommy or daddy. they make mommy and daddy laugh really hard because they think farts are funny. maybe when i get older i will think so too.
i do not cry much, only when mommy or daddy aren't meeting my immediate need in a time frame that i find suitable.
since i came home from the hospital i have been sleeping through the night for the most part. that lets daddy and especially mommy get decent sleep most nights.
i have not yet laughed while i am awake, but both mommy and daddy have heard me laugh in my sleep.
here are a couple of recent pictures of me.
