La Fortuna to Toad Hall

We had our last breakfast and said goodbye to the sloth (that we had nicknamed Mr. Itchy). We climbed in the car and began the dive to Monteverde.
At first the drive took us around the volcano, and then along Lake Arenal. The lake was very long… And all along the way we kept seeing signs for something called Toad Hall. It became quite comical, “38 curves to Toad Hall”, “World Famous Toad Hall”, “A must see Toad Hall”, “Amazing coffee Toad Hall”… Well seeing these signs for 20 km peaked our interest and so when we finally got to Toad Hall, we stopped.
Toad Hall was really just a restaurant, bar, gift shop, and hotel in a little town (about 5 buildings total) called Union Station. The food was good (Chicken Kabob) and the view overlooking the lake was amazing.
